AUM / Simplified MIDI routing? Let me know what you think!
« on: June 13, 2018, 02:05:28 PM »
I'm thinking about some ways to make MIDI routing simpler and more intuitive in AUM.

I have a question for all AUM users: how often do you route different MIDI sources to different destination nodes living in the same channel strip? Would it be too limiting if you instead of routing MIDI to each node, routed it to the whole channel strip at once? Each node in that channel would then receive anything routed to the channel.

So, this change would merge the individual MIDI destinations of nodes into one MIDI destination per channel strip. This would also be used for MIDI control of parameters, which would get rid of the non-intuitive split between AUs having both their own MIDI destination as well as being controllable from the global "AUM Control" destination.

There would still be a global "AUM Control" destination for MIDI control of the transport, etc.

AudioShare / Built-in web browser bye bye
« on: November 12, 2015, 10:22:59 AM »
When submitting the 2.7.2 update, the app was rejected because of the built-in web browser. It was not appropriate to include functionality that allows users to download media content. The browser had to be removed to get the app accepted.

However, you can still download ZIP files with sample packs, synth presets, etc through Safari on your device, and choose "Open in.." AudioShare. And there are online services that can create ZIP archives if your original file is in another format.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

AudioShare / One tap AudioShare import/export from other app
« on: July 19, 2013, 12:54:21 PM »
With the AudioShare SDK, other apps can very easily implement Export to AudioShare and Import from AudioShare buttons. Let the developers of your favorite apps know!

See https://github.com/lijon/AudioShareSDK for code and detailed instructions.

This is how the workflow looks like:
  • User taps "Import from AudioShare" in OtherApp
  • AudioShare is launched automatically
  • The usual share buttons in AudioShare is replaced by an "Import into OtherApp" button.
  • When the user taps this button, AudioShare switches back to the other app, sending it the imported audio.

BitWiz Audio Synth / How to share BitWiz codes
« on: July 17, 2013, 10:53:32 AM »
To share a piece of bitwiz code, simply copy the code from bitwiz, and paste it into a pair of bitwiz tags, like below:

Code: [Select]
[bitwiz]
r = 4,
t >> 3 | (t&t>>5)
[/bitwiz]

This will result in a link that can be clicked and opened directly in bitwiz (if you are viewing this page on your device), like this:

r = 4,
t >> 3 | (t&t>>5)
NOTE: You need to have bitwiz audio synth installed. Go grab it here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bitwiz-audio-synth/id522046655?ls=1&mt=8
