Support / File names with colons (:) will not upload
« Last post by XilburQost on October 11, 2018, 01:38:41 AM »
I've been a happy user of AudioShare on my iPad for several months now. Fantastic program! Unfortunately, I've discovered that AudoShare recordings made via Aum or AD 480 reverb automatically put colons in the names of files recorded in AudioShare. The problem then is I cannot upload the files to my Windows 10 Dropbox because Dropbox considers the file format to be invalid due to the colons.

The workaround is to manually rename the files--sans colons--in AudioShare prior to uploading, but that's clumsy and time-consuming, especially when there are a lot of recordings. Is there a better way?

Thanks.

AudioShare / Re: Convert to MP3..
« Last post by JerrySmith1021 on October 09, 2018, 12:43:09 PM »
As for me, I have converted my Apple Music tracks to MP3 with a third-program. If you would like to import Apple Music to iPod or other common devices, you should convert all DRM protected Apple Music songs to MP3 format with AudFree Apple Music Converter for Windows at first. Then you can freely playback them on any devices without limitation.

AUM / AirPlay video, USB audio
« Last post by rolandvg99 on October 08, 2018, 08:19:59 AM »
Hi.
As much as I love the AUM and its functionality, I truly hate Apple's Airplay latency. Is there a way of breaking the Video/audio tethering to route Video to Airplay and having audio going through to a USB-card, without physically connecting/reconnecting the USB audio device every time I connect to an AppleTV? It's not a very elegant solution in an auditorium session showing how to use GarageBand in a live classrom environment for an audience of 50-200 attendees.

If only Apple had the decency to make a lightning to AV+HDMI+USB3 adaptor similar to the USB-C version for the MacBooks... :)

AUM / AUM keyboard labeled incorrectly?
« Last post by lairdhenn on October 08, 2018, 12:47:10 AM »
I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if the notes on the built in keyboard are incorrect.

If I open any synth, in this case Zeeon, as a standalone and play C3 as labeled on its keyboard it plays C3, now in AUM if I load it as an audio unit and play the same patch I press the C3 key as labeled and C4 plays. The transpose setting is at +0 semitones, changing note range has no effect, and the rest of the settings seem normal as well. I checked a third app to confirm, using Xequence and playing C3 it plays C3, it is only AUM playing the wrong note.

A pretty minor annoyance but I was scratching my head for a bit trying to figure out what is going on. It's also not specific to that one synth, it's the same for every one I tried.

Yes, MIDI recording is on my list of things to consider for future updates.

AUM / Re: New Idea/Feature: Super Knob like control
« Last post by Jonatan Liljedahl on October 05, 2018, 02:05:36 PM »
Mixing sounds can be done simply by using mix busses and faders..

But I'm guessing the "Super Knob" is like a macro controller that controls multiple parameters at once? You can do that in AUM as well, by using a knob/fader on an external MIDI controller (or app). Just map the knobs CC to more than one parameter, and adjust the min/max ranges for each parameter to taste.

AUM / Re: AUM Outputs

No. There is a "MultiRoute" mode in iOS that allows this, but all my experiments with it has shown more troubles than it's worth. It's way better to use an audio interface with multiple ins/outs.

AUM / Re: Question Regarding Latency (new user)
« Last post by Jonatan Liljedahl on October 05, 2018, 02:01:06 PM »
Audio latency should not affect synths driven by sequencer apps on the same iPad, since MIDI messages are timestamped. The current AUM beta version has improved timing precision for MIDI between AU's and IAA nodes, but it depends on the apps actually making use of the timing information. However, when timestamps are not used, this should lead to jitter (varying latency) and not a steady delay of the signal. Jitter would actually decrease when you make the buffer size smaller.

How are you connecting the MIDI source (Step Poly Arp) and destination? AU or IAA or CoreMIDI?
