Audioshare deleted my AUM folder
« on: August 11, 2016, 12:03:27 PM »
I tried to move the AUM recordings folder inside another folder (ready for dropbox sharing).
I used the Audioshare 'move to' dialog.
The app crashed and all of my files have disappeared from the AUM recordings folder. Nowhere to be found.
That is a lot of mixdown and work lost.
File management on iOS is already a horrible mess but wtf happened here?

That sounds horrible. Can you explain step by step exactly what you did? Also, how do you mean "ready for dropbox sharing"? Even if AudioShare crashed while moving files, it should not delete them. Either they moved to the new location or they stayed, is how it's supposed to work.

I clicked on the checkbox at the top to select AUM recordings folder.
I used the green icon to 'move items here' (a folder called audio ios).
App crashed.
AUM recordings had not moved but was now empty.
I had one 1.3gb recording in there.
The files are not in Trash either.

This also means that the AUM recordings have disappeared from AUM itself

So "AUM Recordings" was still there, but empty? And the "audio ios" folder was next to it, in the root level folder?

I just tried doing the same here, and it worked just fine. The whole AUM Recordings folder moved into the other folder, no crash and nothing disappeared. Unfortunately, since it means there's no evident bug to fix.

You could use an app like iFunBox or iExplorer on your computer to check the filesystem, perhaps the files got stuck in some temporary or intermediate folder not visible from within AudioShare itself.  Check all folders inside AudioShare, as well as the shared app group folder "groups.com.kymatica.AudioShare" (or something like that, don't have the code in front of me right now).

Audioshare seems to not reveal any files through these, just an audioshare folder in apps
