Which iPad should i buy?

(the mother of all questions)

Hello my friends!

I am a new (amateur) iOS music maker and I am about to buy my first iPad...but i dont know which one is best for my case.

I mostly play with sample/fx oriented apps (ReSlice, Smplr, Blockwaves, LaunchPad, DFX by Fingelabs etc.).
I love the improvisation freedom that touch technology gives, so live manipulation of samples and sound processing is my cup of tee. Sometimes i run the above mentioned apps in parallel (threw AUM).

Since my budget is short i can go for 3 options:

a) iPad 2017 128GB= 414€
b) iPad Pro 9,7 128GB= 699€
c) iPad Pro 10,5 64GB= 799€

Will the A9 chip and 2GB Ram (iPad 2017) will do the job for me?

Your feedback will be much appreciated!

Regards,

John

Hard to say, I haven't tried that specific combo or researched the performance of various iPad models.
But one thing is for sure, my big iPad Pro has plenty of processing power :)

Thanx for yr reply! I think I am leaning towards iPad Pro 10.5 (64GB) since it's only 80$ extra from the previous Pro 9.7 (128GB) edition. And I hope those 64GB would be enough. I will be very careful the sample management.
Do u think 64GB would be convinient?

John

I think 64GB is enough if you're not using it for lots of long term storage! (And not much photos and videos, etc)

What did you end up buying? I'm facing the same dilemma at the moment and I'm leaning towards 64GB as well.

Hey body I bought the 10.5 64GB...more future proof (spec wise) and the 64GB can be expanded with cloud services or Thunderbolt/USB iOS drives ;)
