Can we have a AU Full Screen button?

Could be a separate button or..

It could be a simple matter of double tapping the top bar, a second time.
The first double tap brings you the default size - if no already so - (as it does now)
When it’s in default size, double tapping again brings full screen.

At the moment to get full screen, with for example ‘Yonac's Kauldron’, we have to drag the AU to the top of AUM’s Screen, then grab the AU re-sizer handle (bottom right) and stretch.

For this particular AU I can’t simply drag handle down, it (the AU) must be move up too.

“I know, AUM was built before this new Full Screen AU biz was even an idea lol” :p

Although, comparing it with Model 15, Kauldron does obscure AUM’s Transport when in full screen.
Is this the third party developers issue?

They must have tested it with AUM (AUM is now a standard) :)

Unlike Model 15, the only way to use Kaulron’s built-in keyboard, pitchbend and modulation wheels, is in full screen.

When in full screen I am able to move the size handle up just enough to get control of AUM’s transport.

One thing AUM does I’ve always noticed is: if you re-size an AU window, then close that window and reopen, it will open back to the re-sized size. (Great!)

However these settings are not state saved, and only work whilst that project is open. So forever re-sizing windows..
If they were state saved that would also do the trick, and save me from typing all this lol :-))

Yeah, saving AU window size in project is on my TODO list. Will look into it.

I agree that it would be useful with a full screen toggle, but I'm not so sure if it should really use the whole screen (obscuring the transport, or keyboard, etc). I don't think it should. Perhaps it should avoid the keyboard if it's open..

Haven't tried Kauldron, but plugins are supposed to handle whatever view size they get. For example, Model 15 is scrollable and zoomable.

I might need to wait with this until I implement the new AU view size negotiation stuff that came in iOS 11, as well as a toggle to ask the AU to show its own controls/keyboard or not (also new in iOS 11).

Haha that was quick! :-)

Thing I was thinking when you mentioned “obscuring the transport or keyboard” was: the double tap could somehow re-size to what ever the user has stretched it too?
Reason: like I said, Kauldron (unfortunately) won’t show its keyboard unless we use the whole screen.

But remember also, AUM’s keyboard and transport are only a double tap away..

I’m also visualising a play, pause and record button on the top of the plugin window, if and only if it’s blocking the transport. (Might be a bit much?)

Also we wouldn’t need to see AUM’s keyboard if we’re using an AU’s one..

So many ways!

Added: I mentioned a few bonuses with Kauldronks keyboard, - another is, it has a Ribbon setting too..

So in summary of my previous  post:

Yes, what you have already implemented can/will work.
Just need to add the fact about the user re-sizing.

1. AUM’s default size.
2. Double tap = full screen -barring keyboard/transport obscuring.
3. User re-sizes, and that overrides command (2.).

I may even have to get on to Yonac about this.
There’s no reason it should work this way, - (we'll see when more AU’s go full screen).
But their testers must have used AUM.. or maybe they just used iPad Pro’s..

In BM3 their transport (BM3’s)  is in place, and Kauldron fits in the window and displays its own keyboard.

Yes, Love this new feature, of (this topic!)

First thing I have found regarding Kauldron, is:

Double tapping the second time brings full ‘window’ but not Kauldron’ full screen.
However, if I ‘X’ out and re-open, Kauldron is now in full screen with keyboard.
However ‘again,’ the bottom quarter of it’s keyboard is out of view.
Then every time I ‘X’ and re-open, the window gets bigger and bigger.

Thinking now, I’m guessing that the first ‘X’ and reopen was the first enlarging. Which is why keyboard was seen. So if you just stop the enlarging issue, we still won’t see the keyboard by double tap alone.

Is this Kauldron’ prob?

Well, Kauldron's way of showing or not showing its keyboard is totally upp to Kauldron in this case.

The window should not grow larger and larger for each time it's opened, I'll have a look at that..

Cool! I think I’ll get in touch with Yonac later, see what’s up..
I already joined their forum a while back, coz I wanted to know if Galileo would become AUv3.
And I couldn’t find any other way (at the time) to get in touch with them.

Just tested the window saving feature, and yes, when I closed then re-opened the project, the window was as I left it. Great! :-)

Yeah this happens regardless of plugin or window size. And no need to double tap for the effect to happen.

Also the window stays the same (user re-sized) when you ‘X’ it and re-open. Nice!
All working after saving, closing and re-opening project too!

Hey J,

Haven’t heard anymore about this.

I am now also experiencing it with SynthMaster One. I’m in touch with the devs, they have made changes and it fits in BM3.
I’ve also tested it (Kauldron) in Auria Pro, although in there we have to stretch/resize, it doesn’t obscure the transport.

It looks like AUM is the reason because there is a lot of the (AUM's) UI that is taken up by the top and bottom bars, (title bar and resize bar).
If you could shave a few mm off so we don’t have to stretch the plugin UI, to get the plugins built in keyboard(s).

Full screen works in BM3 because it has no top/bottom bars, so a trim (or work some magic) to where it fits (with a double tap) that would be great mate.
