I am curious what the two waveform overlays represent in AudioShare.

I’ve recently been capturing allot of vinyl using an inexpensive setup and often get something that sounds pretty good but the darker blue expanded waveform overlay in the display appears to be clipped at a pretty regular value. Is this a problem or maybe just inherent in a vinyl capture with a low quality USB turntable?

The brighter waveform is the RMS average level, while the darker waveform are the peak levels. If it clips, it probably means you've got clipping distortion. It might be more or less audible depending on the material. Maybe it was even mastered that way?
